The Nation: CCP supports Saidu Hospital

LAHORE – The Concerned Citizens Society of Pakistan has extended support to the Saidu Hospital Swat functioning under the Swat Relief Initiative, a non-governmental organisation aiding destitute women and children of conflict-ridden Swat.
Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal of the CCP told TheNation for the functioning of the Saidu Hospital, the CCP had started giving salaries of two doctors and two cleaners working with the Hospital – aiming to improve healthcare for the underprivileged population of Swat – for which President SRI Zebu Jilani had requested the Society, and it had volunteered for this.
Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal also mentioned that the CCP had done tremendous work for the Internally Displaced Persons of the area, while more efforts were still underway, and the CCP would go for more relief activities once the area became more peaceful.
Visibly agitated at the working of the present government, Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal was of the considered opinion that the present leadership of all the political parties was aiming at perpetuating its family rule in Pakistan, and for actualising this end, these leaders had nominated their immediate family members, especially male heirs, to occupy top political and official positions.
Regarding the impending scarcity and steep prices of edibles during the coming Ramazan, she averred that the governments, both federal and provincial, did not have any substantial planning in order to give relief to the already-oppressed people of the society, who had been left with no choice except committing suicide. “People must show patriotism, and put pressure on the govt for deliverance and come up with plans so that people could be provided relief against steep-priced utilities and edibles since these have been continuously rising making people’s lives difficult with every passing day,” observed Justice (r) Nasira Iqbal.
