CCP - Concerned Citizens of Pakistan

Nation and Pakistan Today: Press Release

January 30th, 2011

Concerned Citizens Society of Pakistan strongly condemn the killing of three Pakistani citizens in Lahore on Friday by a US consulate employee. It is also very unfortunate that the US Ambassador instead of condemning this brutal act of murder has set in motion an effort to claim diplomatic immunity for this person. We urge the Pakistan Government not to succumb to US pressure to release the accused US national. He should be subjected to due process of law. Dr Aafia Siddiqui, a person of Pakistani origin, was sentenced to 86 years in prison for firing at US citizens although no one was killed. CCP urge the Government to allow the law to take its full course in this case where three Pakistanis have been killed, so that no powerful state can consider its citizens above the law.
